How my journey began
Streams of Self: My Testimony is the Tea
Streams of Self is a reflection of my own journey through healing, self-compassion, and faith—a testimony of how God transforms pain into purpose. My story is filled with challenges like loss, body shame, grief, and personal struggles, but it’s also a story of restoration and resilience. Like Ezekiel’s dry bones (Ezekiel 37:5-6), God breathed new life into me, and now I’m on a mission to help others experience that same healing.
With my trauma informed background as a licensed master social worker (LMSW), I bring a trauma-informed approach to everything I do. I know firsthand the power of self-compassion, therapy, and community in overcoming life’s challenges. Here at Streams of Self, I offer a welcoming space to help others embrace their worth and cultivate healing through:
Self-compassion coaching—Guiding you to recognize your value and build self-love from the inside out (Ephesians 3:20).
Trauma-informed therapy techniques—Using my clinical expertise to support emotional healing and growth.
ABA therapy practices—Supporting young children in developing emotional regulation, patience, and trust in their own progress.
Empowering Community Tea Parties—Creating safe spaces for connection, healing, and empowerment (Matthew 18:20).
Streams of Self is not just about my journey—it’s about yours. I’m here to help you walk the path of healing, self-compassion, and transformation with faith, hope, and grace. You are worthy, loved, and capable of becoming your best self. Let’s begin this journey together.
"I will put breath in you, and you will come to life." – Ezekiel 37:5
My Interest & Practice
I am deeply passionate about mental health, and through my personal experiences, I have come to understand the profound importance of healing, self-compassion, and resilience. My work centers on fostering a deeper understanding of mental health challenges and providing practical, compassionate support to individuals on their healing journey.
I focus on trauma-informed care, recognizing the lasting impact of past experiences and offering a space where healing can truly begin. Through self-compassion coaching, I empower individuals to embrace their true worth, build emotional resilience, and cultivate kindness toward themselves. I believe that mental health awareness is key to reducing stigma, and I’m committed to educating and advocating for open conversations around mental wellness.
I also believe that faith plays a transformative role in mental health, providing strength and support through even the toughest times. As a self-compassion coach, I integrate these principles to help others build their inner strength and confidence. My work goes beyond individual coaching to focus on building community and peer support, creating spaces where people can heal together.
Key themes I am passionate about include:
Youth mental health: Early intervention and support are essential for emotional well-being. Providing SEL throughout childhood into adolescence can change the success habits of one’s life.
Body positivity and mental health: Promoting self-love and acceptance for all bodies, knowing this directly impacts mental wellness.
Social and cultural considerations: How societal factors, such as race and socioeconomic status, shape mental health, and the importance of cultural competency in care.
Mental health in the workplace: Creating supportive environments that encourage balance, stress management, and mental wellness.
Digital mental health: Understanding the impact of technology and social media on our emotional health, while using digital tools for support.
